Tweezerman ProCurl Lash Curler: Review
I’m not gonna lie. The fact this lash curler is so freakin’ pretty is what initially got me to try it. Like many, I’m a sucker for anything and everything rose gold, which has become one of the biggest trends in fashion and beauty over the past two years. Luckily, this Tweezerman tool is as good at what it does as it is attractive, which is why it’s won a Best of Beauty Award three years in a row (2015, 2016, and 2017).
Tweezerman has a few lash curlers, but this one — the ProCurl model — opens the widest of all of them (and possibly, the widest of any lash curler I’ve ever tried). That, coupled with the fact that the black silicone pad is also nice and wide, means you will probably never pinch your eyelid skin by mistake, regardless of the shape of your eyes. I mean, sure, shit happens, but I’ve been using this for years and have never once clamped down on my lids (which has, unfortunately, happened to me with lash curlers made by other brands).
This guy also gives you a really beautiful, natural-looking curl thanks to the rounded edges of the silicone pad, the narrow top bar, and the gentle curve of the metal opening. You’ll never wind up with lashes that have that dreaded L shape, no matter how hard you clamp down. I do, however, like to do two clamps per eye: I clamp down on the right lashes for five seconds and release. Then I clamp down on the left lashes for five seconds and release, then repeat that again on each side. I like my lashes to be really curled, and I’ve found this is the best way to achieve that.
The other great thing about the ProCurl Lash Curler is that it comes with three replacement silicone pads, giving you four total (including the one that is placed on the lash curler when you buy it). For me, four pads last me approximately two years (I haven’t really kept track, but that seems about right…I also don’t replace them as often as I probably should). And while I appreciate and love the iconic Shu Uemura lash curler, the fact that this rose-gold wonder rings in at $22 and does just as good of a job is why I’ll continue to keep buying this and recommending it to my friends. The fact it’s rose-gold is just icing on the proverbial cake.
