EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 Editor Review | Love Letters Series
Love is in the air — and this Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating with tributes to the products we can’t live without. In our new series, aptly named Love Letters, editors offer unabashed affection to their most-beloved fragrances, makeup, hair products, and more.
Dear EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46,
You were my first. The first sunscreen that convinced me to actually wear sunscreen, that is.
I’d tried others before you, of course. I cycled through dozens of chalky formulas with medicinal — or worse yet, beach-like — fragrances. But you? You’ve never once left a cast on my ultra-fair skin. And the fact that you’re fragrance-free just confirms that you’re the one.
You’re so much more than just a sun-protectant — you’re also an excellent moisturizer. The hyaluronic acid in your non-greasy formula makes my skin look dewy and plump. And, blissfully, it remains that way for hours post-application. You also contain niacinamide — another one of my favorite ingredients — which I know helps my skin appear more even-toned.
I may have waited more than 20 years to meet you, but we’ve made up for lost time. You’re the first — and often only — product I apply each morning. You make me feel like I’ve done something good for myself before my day has even really begun.
If the number of dermatologists who adore you is any indication, it seems ours is an open relationship — but I don’t mind. In fact, I’ve been known to do the match-making myself, and often introduce you to friends and co-workers. And as soon as they get to know you, they too fall madly in love.
Here’s to many more happy years together.
